BEAP

BEAP - Shrek Jr!

Thursdays, 3.30-5.30, Autumn and Spring terms only, for children at Our Lady's Bishop Eton, Years 4-6

BEAP is so excited to be performing Shrek Jr this year!

What is Big BEAP?

BEAP is a musical theatre group for children at Our Lady's Bishop Eton from years 4-6. If your child has a passion for singing, dancing, acting, or all three, then BEAP is the perfect place for them.

.The children will look at script work and acting through song in full blown ensemble and solo numbers that will light up the stage. All three aspects of Musical Theatre will be examined through preparing for five extraordinary performances of SHREK JR at the G20 Theatre, located in the City of Liverpool Arts College.

As always, our 2027 production of Shrek will feature full lighting, staging and costuming, all provided through our partnership with the students and staff at the City of Liverpool College.

We also like to explore all the creative sides of our students as we get to know them and offer them opportunities to design the T shirts and programme. The students will also be involved in set making and prop making.

Auditions

Big BEAP is a non-auditioned ensemble. Auditions are held only for those wanting to try for a main role.

Costs

£200 for the year working out at £4.05 per hour!

This year we are Performing Shrek Jr!

This year's annual BEAP show is Shrek Jr, the musical based on the iconic 2001 movie, following the big Green ogre and his friend, Donkey, as they journey to save their magical kingdom, with help from a variety of fairytale characters along the way. We chose Shrek for our annual show this year as we think it reflects what BEAP is all about: having pride in oneself and not being afraid of anything! Here at BEAP, we have created a welcoming, warm and friendly environment for any child to come and explore their excitement for performance, and what better show to allow them to do that than one that is all about letting your freak flag fly!

Where and when is BEAP based?

BEAP rehearsals take place at Our Lady's Bishop Eton during the Autumn and Spring terms, from 3.30 until 5.30 in the school hall.

Performances and weekend rehearsals take place at the state-of-the-art G20 Theatre in the City of Liverpool Arts College. The College's theatre has become the home of BEAP since we did our first production of Moana there in 2021, and they are the perfect venue to house our different ensembles. Their technicians and students work tirelessly in collaboration with our directors to give each show that BEAP sparkle.
